After multiple years of significant year-over-year growth, merger and acquisition (M&A) activity in the Pet & Animal Care industry remained robust during 2017 and neared the record level set in 2016.  Rapid consolidation is in part due to industry operators’ desire to satisfy the evolving needs of the modern pet owner through new product introductions.
